During Patrice’s decade in the Utah Senate and House, she passed nearly 60 bills. She was known for successfully working with legislators on both sides of the aisle to draft practical legislation that helped Utah’s families. These bills included legislation that:
- Provided for the safe relinquishment of
newborns (“baby drop-off” law) - Protected students with asthma and diabetes
- Increased penalties for identity theft
- Expanded new motor vehicle warranties
- Closed some loopholes in Utah’s campaign finance laws
- Protected seniors who sign pre-need funeral contracts
- Improved patient access to their own medical records
- Gave law enforcement new tools to stop clandestine drug labs
- Prevented price gouging during emergencies
- Protected consumers from unfair cancellation of auto insurance
